Chicago’s high-rises boast spectacular views and exteriors, but one condo failed to keep up with its modern city scene. Designer Vince LaRocca at Katlia Construction transformed both the condo’s master and a guest bath into spa-like spaces.
The master bath’s heated toilet seat, floor and towel rack provide for the city’s harsh winters, while mosaic floor tiles add a hint of sparkle.
Imitation-wood porcelain plank tiles cover the walls, floors and the shower and create a natural but contemporary appeal in the room.
“We used steam shower controls so that the customer was able to adjust while in the shower and to give him a spa atmosphere,” said LaRocca.
Chocolate brown cabinetry matches with square pullouts, while soft-close doors and self-close drawers complete the master bath’s modernity.
In the guest bath, contemporary fixtures and a simple wooden vanity replaced a large, bulky vanity and outdated appliances.
By extending the wall by two inches, a larger tub fit to the space.
A rectangular, curved sink and a frameless mirror complete the sleek, simple bath.
