This Eden Prairie, Minn., home disregarded its far-reaching views with a dark, awkward kitchen. Redesigned by Kate Roos of Casa Verde Design, the kitchen was completely moved to the opposite side of the great room to take advantage of the location.
Previously the hearth room, the new location for the kitchen boasts a setting right by the windows, as well as a larger space for storage and entertaining.
Since the client specified a classic white kitchen that would never go out of style, Roos kept the palette simple while integrating subtly original detailing.
Double islands help fill the large space and also accommodate the client’s desire for a place to entertain.
The wide range hood draws the focus to the center, while allowing room for one white upper cabinet on either side.
Two sconces on either side of these cabinets give the kitchen the warm touch it needed.
