Faced with a dated 1980s kitchen, these owners hoped for a clean aesthetic in their kitchen redesign. “They were interested in materials – interesting materials,” said design Jonas Carnemark of Carnemark. “The previous kitchen had a lot going on, and they wanted something sleek.”
After falling for matte glass finishes, the clients decided on a primarily white glass kitchen but with a few creative touches. “You’ll find matte glass, polished glass, polished lacquer, matte Paperstone tops and so on,” said Carnemark.
The white gloss lacquer cabinets meet at a glass countertop and storage area.
A niche on the opposite end of the kitchen mimics the corner but with shiny lacquer cabinets to complement the glass countertops.
For the breakfast area, an alcohol-burning fireplace is surrounded by stainless and monolithic Silestone.
The massive storefront-like window looks in on the matte paperstone countertop, an eco-friendly and hygienic solution.
