Cosentino North America Goes Green

July 01, 2009

Cosentino recently launched ECO by Cosentino, a new line of countertop and surfacing material composed of 75 percent recycled material. The launch event was held in the glass penthouse of the Chelsea Arts Tower, in New York City's contemporary art district.

Designer David Stark curated an exhibition of sculptures showcasing ECO’s raw materials including an 11 ft. high "75 percent" sculpture filled with shards of porcelain, glass, and mirrors representing ECO's use of recycled materials.  In addition, a tower of porcelain sinks and ceramics, a giant glass bottle made of over 500 individual glass bottles, and a rain cloud of reflecting mirrors highlighted the quantity of recycled materials Cosentino utilizes each year in the manufacturing of ECO.

The all-day launch event kicked off with an introduction by Lorenzo Marquez, VP of Marketing for Cosentino, and was followed by a panel discussion with industry leaders including: Roberto Contreras, Jr. President and CEO, Cosentino North America; Luis de Garrido, Ph.D. President, The National Association for Housing of the Future and designer/architect of "Green Box," and Sara Ann Busby, CKD Former President, National Kitchen and Bath Association.

ECO by Cosentino offers a hard durable surface that has high stain, scratch and scorch performance. It is available at all Lowe's stores nationwide as well as specialty kitchen and bath distributors and showrooms across the country.  To locate regional distributors, fabricators and retailers, call 1-866-579-4ECO (4326) or visit the company's website.
