Round up your best projects! The American Society of Interior Designers Foundation (ASID Foundation) is urging interior design students and professionals to apply for six awards and scholarships before the January 15, 2010, application deadline. Open to both ASID members and nonmembers, the awards and scholarships range from monetary awards for contributions to the profession to scholarships for students.
"This is a great way for students and professionals to be rewarded and recognized for their achievements," said Nila R. Leiserowitz, FASID, ASID Foundation chair. "I specifically want to encourage students to give something to themselves and their future by applying during their winter break."
A sampling of the awards and scholarships programs, which have no application fee, include the Yale R. Burge Competition, which is designed to encourage interior design students in their final year of undergraduate studies to plan their portfolios; the Joel Polsky Prize recognizing outstanding academic contributions to the discipline of interior design through literature or visual communication, and the Irene Winifred Eno Grant, which provides financial assistance to those engaged in the creation of an educational program(s) or an interior design research project dedicated to health, safety and welfare.
