The kitchen and bath industry is going Goth. From appliances and cabinetry to fixtures and fittings, black is the new, well, black. Try some of these dark products in your designs to add a dose of drama.

1. TOTO USA's Waza Noir Collection
Comprised of three cast iron vessel lavatories, the Zen-inspired Waza Noir collection explores the deep, rich hues of black on distinctive forms and textures. Available in matte black and tuxedo (both inspired by the spectrum of black "Sumi" inks used in traditional Japanese calligraphy), the lavatories feature organic contours and come in round and rectangular shapes.

2. California Faucets' Custom Faucetry
By using California Faucets' Virtual Faucet Creator, users can try the company's two black finishes on any faucet they desire (Jalama in matte black shown). In addition to black nickel and matte black finishes, the faucets—of which there are more than 25 styles—are offered in 28 other decorative finishes, including English brass and mocha bronze. Mix and match away!

3. Villeroy & Boch's Memento Collection
Now including a wall-mounted toilet and bidet, the Memento collection—which also includes washbasins and furniture—comes in white and glossy black, as well as with a New Glory or New Glory Platinum decor that features a matte neo-baroque floral motif. Inspired by Bauhaus design, the line is minimalist and pure, contemporary yet timeless.

4. Amerock's Blackrock Collection
Ideal for any kitchen, the simply styled Blackrock Collection of decorative hardware includes 36 product options including standard and oversized knobs in round and square shapes, as well as a new pendant knob. 5. Gorenje's Pininfarina Black Collection
An update to the classic Gorenje Pininfarina stainless-steel appliance line, the Gorenje Pininfarina Black Collection features glossy and matte black surfaces. A limited edition (only 100 appliance sets have been made, unfortunately only available in Europe), the line includes a refrigerator/freezer, a built-in oven, cooktops, a ventilation hood and decorative panels for washers and microwaves. The collection's technological innovations include a quick view window in the refrigerator, which allows users to see what’s inside without opening the door, and slider touch control on the cooktops, which allows simple operation by sliding a finger across the control unit's surface.

6. Samuel Heath's Xenon Black Finish
U.K.-based Samuel Heath introduces Xenon Black, a matte black finish available on the company's Xenon Collection faucets, showers and accessories. Made from European brass, each item in the line is meticulously formed, hand-polished and chrome plated in up to 34 individual processes to create the dramatic finish. According to Nick Webster, of Samuel Heath, the collection boasts a masculine aesthetic, which is only enhanced by the new finish.

7. Laufen's IL BAGNO ALESSI dOt Collection
Designed by Dutch architect Wiel Arets, the IL BAGNO ALESSI dOt collection is now available in matte black, offering a fresh take on modern bathroom ware. True to its name, the line's products—basins, toilets, tubs, shower enclosures, furniture pieces and accessories—each feature a round, dot-like recess on their asymmetrically shaped forms.

8. Sonia's Play Collection
Dress up your bath with the Play Collection of vanities. Try Play Wood with its palette that includes wenge, polar, moka and arena. Or, for a splash of color, choose Play Color with its selection of satin lacquer finishes in milk, blackberry (shown), pearl, beige, camel, chocolate, wine and sky. Or if you just can't make up your mind, look to Play Concept, which offers combinations of finishes, such as Domino (milk and blackberry) and Camper (blackberry and oak moka). The collection is also available with the company's line of SX2 fireclay tops.
