New Holiday Traditions Begin With the Grill

December 08, 2009

Where are more consumers preparing their holiday meals? The backyard, of course! A recent survey reveals that 53 percent of American grill owners continue to grill year-round. According to the latest results from the Weber GrillWatch Survey, gas continues to be the most popular type of outdoor grill owned (67 percent); one-half of all grill owners now have a charcoal grill.

And with more and more Americans firing up their grills throughout the year, Weber has launched a new website devoted to the art of grilling a holiday meal. The website offers recipes, grilling tips, instructional videos and even a grocery list that can be emailed to friends. It also has helpful advice for grilling your main dish, and each recipe can be downloaded with the option of emailing a grocery list to make shopping easy.

The Weber GrillWatch Survey—conducted by Greenfield Online to ensure statistical integrity—is the nation's most comprehensive study on what, where, when, why and how Americans cook outdoors. All survey respondents were over age 21 and own a gas, charcoal or electric barbecue grill or smoker. Respondents were balanced demographically to represent households across the U.S.
