Superior Woodcraft Launches Exchange

December 22, 2009

For the children of Doylestown, PA, the holiday season may have started as early as mid-November this year, thanks to Superior Woodcraft, Inc. The custom cabinetmaker and remodeling firm threw open the doors of its Doylestown workshop to host its first Great Toy Exchange. During the two-hour event, the local community was invited to browse an array of gently used toys, while socializing and enjoying light refreshments.

The Great Toy Exchange was launched as a free, cost-saving and environmentally friendly way to recycle and find new owners for toys that have become underappreciated, underused and/or no longer age-appropriate. It does, however, only accept toys that are clean, unbroken and reasonably used.

Those who missed the inaugural exchange have plenty of opportunities to participate and join in the festivities. The company plans to host a toy exchange on the second Saturday of every month through the coming year. In addition, upcoming events will be expanded to include books, CDs and DVDs.

“Altogether, November’s inaugural exchange was a great success,” said Michelle Geiger Kennedy, owner of Superior Woodcraft and founder of The Great Toy Exchange. “We are excited to see the exchange grow each month and become a valuable service to the community by helping families save money while providing new and interesting toys for their kids. The exchange also reinforces Superior’s environmental policy of ‘reduce, reuse, and recycle.’”

For a schedule of current dates and times, visit the company's blog or the Bucks County website and choose events calendar. Information is also available by calling 215-348-9942, ext. 20, or by emailing info@superiorwoodcraft.com.
