Kitchen Confidential

SPLURGE:
“I would splurge on items you use a lot, such as a good sink, faucet, dishwasher, refrigerator, cooktop or double ovens,” said Lori Carroll, of Lori Carroll and Associates. Because different kitchens have different requirements and not all need to be equipped with every bell and whistle, Carroll suggests spending more on the items the homeowner knows will be well-used. Her preference is to go with products that maximize functionality and are diverse in their usage. For example, if a client loves to cook, she recommends a quality cooktop with outstanding low-flame capabilities, such as Viking’s gas models.
