The judges picked up on the kitchen’s “happy” atmosphere, which, as one noted, makes “you just want to plop down and put your feet up.” Also noteworthy were its well-integrated design and attention to detail—both functional and aesthetic. The vibrant Mediterranean-inspired color scheme originated with the homeowner, who worked closely with interior designer Corinne Jones to bring her vision to reality. To keep the vibe fun and casual, Howard kept conventional wall units to a minimum, incorporated open shelving where possible and varied cabinet heights.
