In addition to cooking healthy meals, steam is also being used to ease oven cleaning. Maytag’s latest range line, for example, features AquaLift, a self-clean technology that utilizes low heat and water to activate an enamel coating on the oven interior and thus release baked-on spills in less than an hour. A final wipe-down removes food and debris. The technology eliminates the need for extreme heat, which in turn can produce odors.
