Simply Seamless
Sitting on 7.66 acres amid the rolling hills of the sunny Southern California city of Rancho Santa Fe, the Malaga home is an architectural sight to behold. Slow Times
During past housing slumps, the cabinet market has shown resilience, but for 2007, manufacturers have reported a precipitous decline in the market. The results of K+BB's exclusive Who's Who in Cabinets survey indicate a drop in sales volume of more than $1 billion, to approximately $9.3 billion. Meet the "Ruppies"

Room for Two
For Jonas Weiner and his wife, Sharon, theirs is more than just a master bathroom. "It's really our living space, our spot," said Weiner. And what a spot. Warm and inviting in a palette of sunny beiges and smoky browns, the bathroom boasts a luxurious, 21-ft. x 14-ft. footprint, a picturesque view of Mother Nature and a bevy of creature comforts befitting a couple's "private sanctum." "We're empty-nesters now and each other's best buddy," Weiner said. "At the end of the day, we come home, fill up the tub or turn on the steam. And because my wife is a sports buff, we turn on the TV—there's always a game on—and relax." It's a lifestyle that Weiner, co-owner of a high-end plumbing showroom, encourages other empty-nesters to emulate.

In Detail
If there is anything that a designer and a carpenter can agree on regarding any room in a customer's home, it's that the devil is truly in the details. The fact is, that unless you have properly finished off the room with the proper molding, well, you've probably left the room incomplete.
