Blanco's Solon Compost System Recognized

May 14, 2010

Blanco recently received an honorable mention in the 2010 KBCULTURE Awards in the storage category for its Solon Compost System. KBCULTURE is a review of the products, places and perspectives central to kitchen and bath design.

"With several municipalities, including San Francisco, now requiring to compost organic kitchen waste, the Solon is a timely—and especially considering its function—an unexpectedly elegant product," said Leslie Plummer Clagett, founder and judge of KBCULTURE. Judging along with Leslie Plummer Clagett was Bill Partsch, editor of Kitchens & Baths and former editor of Kitchen and Bath Business magazines.

The Blanco Solon compost system is crafted from recycled stainless steel, which collects organic waste below the counter, allowing homeowners to incorporate green living into their kitchen. "We are grateful for the KBCULTURE honorable mention," said Tim Maicher, director of marketing for Blanco. "The Solon Compost System is an eco-friendly way to bring the beauty of Blanco from the kitchen to the garden and we are thrilled to be recognized for this."
