Conestoga Wood Offers New Sustainable Finish Option

August 15, 2014

Conestoga Wood Specialties has partnered with Sherwin-Williams to introduce a sustainable, formaldehyde-free finish option called DuraPure.

DuraPure by Conestoga eliminates concerns of formaldehyde off gassing and provides flexibility in meeting environmental regulations and consumer demand for a sustainable finish. DuraPure contains UV inhibitors that slow the impact of UV rays on wood.

“We no longer have to sacrifice performance or overall appearance to offer a more sustainable product,” said Jeff Eichenseer, director of marketing at Conestoga Wood Specialties. “Our customers and homeowners can now have the best of both worlds – quality and a formaldehyde free, environmentally friendly option.”

Available in Conestoga’s complete palette of wiping stains, Truetones and glazes, DuraPure sealers and topcoats have achieved Greenguard Indoor Air Quality Certification through the Greenguard Environmental Institute. The new offering also meets KCMA testing requirements and Federal HAPS rule for wood finishes.
