Sherwin-Williams Selects STIR Design Challenge Winners

June 27, 2014

Sherwin-Williams announced the winners of its fourth-annual STIR Student Design Challenge, which recognizes emerging talent in residential and commercial design.

Cortni Stevenson (entry pictured above and below), a student from Texas Christian University, won first place in residential design for her contemporary take on a high-rise condominium, while Elena Proskurina, from Louisiana State University, won first place in the commercial design category for her interpretation of a modern office space. The students will each receive a cash prize of $2,500 and will be featured in an upcoming issue of Sherwin-Williams’ STIR Magazine.

“We saw some strong design work from students, and the quality of this year’s work made the process of choosing winners the most difficult yet,” said Jackie Jordan, director of color marketing, Sherwin-Williams. “Ultimately, the submissions from Cortni and Elena featured a truly exceptional level of skill and creativity, and they are both well poised to contribute significantly to the design world.”

Students entered into either the commercial or residential design category and used a minimum of three Sherwin-Williams colors to qualify. The next STIR Student Design Challenge will take place in spring 2015, with entries accepted through April 15, 2015, at swstudentdesign.com.
