Two Washington Companies Race for Local Anchor

June 10, 2010

Two Washington-based companies, countertop fabricator Fine Line Pacific and home remodeling firm Kitchen Plus, joined forces on “Team Michelle” for the 2010 Susan G. Komen Puget Sound Race for the Cure on June 6. The team’s namesake, Michelle Millman, is a local news reporter anchor for KIRO 7 who is currently battling breast cancer.

The Komen Race for the Cure honors breast cancer survivors, those who support breast cancer survivors and those who have lost their lives to the disease, as well as raises funds for research, education, prevention, advocacy and treatment.

Of the 46 participants who have joined “Team Michelle,” 32 are from Fine Line Pacific and Kitchen Plus. “We are very pleased with the turnout and hope this will continue to be a company tradition,” said Mike Birdwell, longtime friend of Millman and VP of sales and marketing at Fine Line Pacific. “It is an honor to be able to participate in this event because breast cancer has affected so many of our friends and family.”
