Programming to Benefit New Designers During ASID at NeoCon

June 10, 2010

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) at NeoCon is offering insight and programs for new interior designers and students trying to get ahead in a down economy.  Networking opportunities, career advice from experienced designers and a forum on the role of young designers are all part of the lineup.

ASID’s national conference is taking place at NeoCon in Chicago June 14 – 16, 2010. Emerging professional and student-centered programs include “Design It Forward Forum,” which features a panel of young, multidisciplinary design generalists that are blending the lines of design. Emily Pilloton, founder and executive director of Project H Design, will facilitate the forum that explores the changing way business is done.

An emerging professionals Town Hall will offer stories and advice from ASID Fellows during a panel discussion and Q&A session. It also features the debut of the Fellows Project video, a collection of real-world advice for up-and-coming professionals from ASID Fellows.

A career exchange will provide an opportunity for students and recent graduates to meet with leading architecture and design firms and discuss their work, portfolio and their future. Industry representatives will be on hand to offer information about their companies and ASID members will lend their expertise during one-on-one sessions.
