Rev-A-Shelf Acquires Widmer GmbH

April 05, 2013

Rev-A-Shelf has announced the acquisition of Widmer GmbH. The business, which has been renamed Widmer By Rev-A-Shelf GmbH, is a European provider of storage products for the kitchen offering a line of carousel, swivel and pullout systems for residential cabinetry.

“The acquisition of Widmer GmbH is a perfect transition for Rev-A-Shelf into the European Cabinet Industry,” said David Noe, general manager of Rev-A-Shelf, LLC. “Widmer is a smaller version of Rev-A-Shelf with injection-molded Lazy Susans and a growing line of cabinet storage solutions. The ability to build our brand and expand the customer base for Tresco Lighting and innovative organizational products is an exciting development for our future. We will be introducing the formation of our new business at the Interzum show in Cologne, Germany, in May.”

Rev-A-Shelf has hired Marco Capuano as the director of international business. He will lead the new European project with the support of Guenter Widmer, the founder of Widmer GmbH, who will run the daily operation as the general manager.

"Widmer’s acquisition will transform Rev-A-Shelf’s capability in Europe and enhance our strategic positioning as a global player,” said Marco Capuano. “It is an exciting opportunity for both companies, and I look forward to working with Guenter and his team for the growth of the company in Europe.”

“I am delighted to join Rev-A-Shelf and be part of its international growth,” said Guenter Widmer. “The acquisition of Widmer through Rev-A-Shelf will be beneficial to both parties; Rev-A-Shelf will gain access to the European and World markets, and Widmer will be able to expand its product lines with the large Rev-A-Shelf product range.”
