Suffering with an Ugly Bath?

August 12, 2010

How bad is your bath? Mildly outdated or flat-out hideous? American Standard is offering a new bathroom worth $10,000 to the winning entry of the America's Ugliest Bathroom Contest. The winner will be able to choose a look from among four American Standard bath collections that include furniture, as well as WaterSense-labeled toilets, faucets and showerheads.

"Ugly bathrooms are a competitive category," said Jeannette Long, general manager of e-commerce and marketing for American Standard Brands, who has run the American Standard America's Ugliest Bathroom contest since its inception eight years ago. Past winners included a 1960s lava-rock-motif bath and a hippie bath.
Entries will be accepted on Facebook until August 20, 2010. To enter, homeowners need to give their entry a title, answer two questions and write an essay under 100 words about what makes their bath so ugly and how it ended up in their home. Finally, a minimum of two images with titles and captions must be uploaded.

The ugliest bath will be selected through a public voting period from August 21, 2010 to September 10, 2010, with one vote per person. The winner will choose from among four bath collections from American Standard: Studio, Tropic, Town Square or the Standard collection.
