Registration Opens for ICFF 2016

February 9, 2016

For nearly 30 years, ICFF has been the North American platform for what’s new and what’s next in global design. The cornerstone of NYCxDESIGN, the 28th edition of ICFF will run from May 14-17, 2016 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. Expanded exhibition space, insightful on-the-floor programs, education by ASID and a new Emerging Designer pavilion set the tone for the 2016 event.

“The ICFF exhibition floor has grown by 30% over 2015, as the Fair welcomes some 150 new brands on two floors at the Javits Center in May,” said Kevin O’Keefe, ICFF event director. “Expect to discover what’s outstanding and what’s next in furniture, lighting, wall coverings, surfaces, kitchen and bath. Be introduced to emerging designers from around the world, a doubled Luxe Interiors + Design feature and the enlarged Italian Lifestyles Fair, Ho.MI New York. Come and be inspired!”

Exhibitors and Pavilions
Featuring an additional 10,000 net sq. feet, the Luxe Interiors + Design pavilion returns after its debut at ICFF 2015, showing a curated mix of transitional and classic contemporary design brands from around the world including Luxe France, a unique presentation of French luxury design.

The Ho.MI New York Lifestyles pavilion also returns, making its second appearance at ICFF. Bringing more than 100 top Italian designers and brands, Ho.MI Milano plays host to an expanded footprint of 12,000 net sq. feet.

The Milk Stand by Design Milk is back, with an expanded presence featuring a variety of emerging artists and designers from across the U.S. Included in the pavilion, Designers & Books will present the hot list of new design book releases, as well as book signings and “meet the author” days.

ICFF Global Emerging Designers program will bring together undiscovered industry talent from more than 20 countries including the likes of France, Japan, Brazil, Italy, Portugal, Austria, the Philippines, Spain and the New York Furniture Society.

The best of the best exhibiting at design fairs from around the world will be featured in a Best of Design Week pavilion, including exhibitors from Tokyo Design Week, Barcelona Design Week and more.

Programming and Awards
Each year, ICFF convenes top industry journalists and editors, inviting them to scout and select the “best of the best” in a variety of categories. The ICFF Editors’ Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2016.

New in 2016, Interior Design magazine and ICFF present a global design competition in New York City – the first annual NYCxDESIGN Awards. It is an open and inclusive program celebrating the outstanding achievement across major areas of design—from architecture to interiors, from products to collectibles, from craft to technology. The NYCxDesign Awards will be the connector that pulls together and rewards excellence in design achievement from the over 500 events that comprise New York City’s showcase of global design. Submissions open to all fairs, exhibitors, and design firms until April 13th. Winners will be announced on May 14th at 6PM at the MoMA. For more information, go to NYCxDESIGNawards.com.

Hundreds of aspiring and talented designers from all over the world compete to be one of the ten chosen participants in the prestigious ICFF Studio presented by Bernhardt Design. These remarkable designers will be showcased to the architects, designers, developers, retailers, press and manufacturers that drive the North American interiors industry.

Education
The third level, second floor of ICFF will feature on-the-floor stage programming May 14-17, 2016. Designed to stimulate the creative conversation between designers, brands and industry leaders, the ICFF Talks will feature global industry leaders, award-winning designers and members of the design media. Topics ranging from material science in industrial design to smart branding and licensing practice as well as retail design practice, the crossover of contract and residential product and the newest considerations for boutique hospitality design will be explored. The full schedule will be announced in early March.

The ICFF education partner, the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) will again offer CEU approved programming for ALL design professionals. The tracks will include four sessions for designers on Saturday, May 14 and Sunday May 15, with Student Day programming on Monday, May 16, and consumer programming on Tuesday, May 17, 2016.  Positioned on the show floor, the ASID at ICFF education series will bring together thought leaders and industry experts to present insightful content. Registration will open February 29, 2016 on ICFF.com.
