ASID Launches National Student Summit

October 23, 2015

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) will welcome interior design students to LAUNCH – The ASID National Student Summit, hosted at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), February 26 – 28, 2016. During the event, attendees from across the country and representing numerous ASID student chapters will connect with their peers and explore strategies on how to transition successfully from education to practice.

“Offering interior design students resources in their professional development is a core pillar to the Society’s mission,” said ASID CEO Randy Fiser. “And, one of the most important career decisions students make is the kind of education and training they get before they begin. LAUNCH will allow students to connect in a forum otherwise not available to them as they network and share information with fellow students, educators, practitioners, and industry experts, as well as students from other schools and ASID student chapters.”

Students will learn about the various career paths available with an interior design degree, in addition to valuable insights on resumes, portfolios and networking.

“We want attendees to take away a deeper understanding of how to connect their careers to the industry, including licensure (NCIDQ), public affairs and trends around health and wellness, sustainability and resiliency,” said Fiser.

ASID will review education proposals for LAUNCH and other ASID programming through November 20. LAUNCH proposals should focus on education geared toward multiple career paths for interior designers, the practice of interior design, and the profession. Learn more at presentationrfp.asid.org.

More information on speakers and programming will be available soon.
