BSH Dishwasher Power Cord Safety Recall

October 1, 2015

BSH Home Appliances Corporation has voluntarily agreed to conduct a safety recall to replace the power cords on certain models of Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau and Kenmore Elite brand dishwashers. This safety recall involves power cords that were manufactured by an external supplier and sold with certain dishwashers manufactured from January 2008 through December 2013 and sold in the United States and Canada.

The decision to conduct this safety recall to replace the power cords was made following recent customer reports that found that the dishwasher power cord can overheat, posing a potential fire hazard. There have been 10 incidents of which 5 resulted in property damage. No injuries have been reported.

BSH is working in full cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safet Commission and Health Canada to quickly recall and replace the affected power cords. As part of the safety recall, BSH will replace the power cord free of charge by an authorized service technician. Consumers should stop using the affected dishwashers and contact the BSH safety recall hotline for free repair. The BSH safety recall hotline is: (888) 965-5813.

This safety recall affects only certain models of dishwashers. Consumers can check if their dishwasher is affected by locating the model and serial numbers on the topside of the dishwasher inner door panel. To confirm if a dishwasher is included in this safety notice, consumers should contact BSH Home Appliances at our toll free number, (888) 965-5813 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST Monday through Sunday or the brand web sit for more information.
