Dwell on Design LA Announces Speakers and Select Products

April 11, 2016

Dwell on Design LA, which returns to the Los Angeles Convention Center June 24-26, has announced speakers and select product launches. For 2016, Dwell welcomes Japanese Architect Sou Fujimoto as the keynote speaker. Blurring the lines between public and private spaces, Fujimoto’s designs question the boundaries of residential living, often creating ethereal maze-like spaces. His Pavilion for London’s Serpentine Gallery and upcoming installation for COS in Milan have redefined the way people relate to space, movement and privacy. Onstage at Dwell on Design, he will share his evolving and boundary-pushing creative process.

Additional speakers include critic and Dean of the Frank Lloyd Wright School at Taliesin West, Aaron Betsky, activist Gary Sinise of the Gary Sinise Foundation, architect Frank Clementi of Rios Clementi Hale Studios and Matthew Hufft of Hufft Projects.

At Dwell on Design LA, MODIFY Furniture will launch Modify After Dark, a new way to customize any piece of furniture by imbedding images onto surfaces of furniture for one-of-a-kind pieces that also support local artists. GRAFF Faucets, will introduce the Dressage free-standing vanity, featuring canaletto walnut and positioned on a minimalist base to conceal all plumbing. KONCEPT will introduce Mr.Go!, a portable LED Lantern, minimally designed with a curved light panel and an on-the-go USB device charging station. Resource Furniture will debut the Prima TV Rack, a rack and storage station that swivels to hide clutter and creates a wood paneled wall. Lastly, Dunn-Edwards will debut ARISTOSHIELD and offer color consultations.

Dwell On Design LA will cover Healthy Architecture, The Business of Design, Smart Home and the Nice Modernist. The Modern Family Pavilion will return, alongside the Dwell Outdoor Pavilion, featuring family friendly games and activities and the newest in outdoor design. Attendees can get a look at emerging designs and designers at the Prime Edition + Prototype Pavilion. Returning exhibitors include Astek Wall Coverings, Big Ass Solutions, Casoro Jewelry, Ceilum Ceiling Tiles, Deacero and EOS Surfaces. Dwell welcomes new exhibitors  Adam Raiola, Ann 330 Gallery, At Aroma Co., CurioDesign, Gary Sinise Foundation, MOO, MTI Baths, RAD Furniture, Resysta, Sonoma Forge and The World Effect.
