Design duo Tish Mills and Scott Kirk recently renovated the kitchen and master bath in their mid-century modern-style home in Atlanta, but it was tricky to find an aesthetic that worked for both of them.
The new master bath is something Mills and her family smile about every day. Their children often ask to use it when they are away.
The double floating vanity was left over from a previous project of their cabinet maker, and it is the perfect fit and style for the new space.
The window was enlarged by two feet, which enabled the designer to center the sink to a more comfortable spot within the kitchen.
The kitchen has no upper cabinetry because the pantry provides most of the storage needs. There is a beverage refrigerator at one end so someone passing by can grab a drink and go.
The designer and her husband decided to keep the existing brick wall in the kitchen. She wanted to paint it a lighter color but is glad her husband wanted to keep it as it because it brings in warmth to the mostly neutral space.
