The colorful bathroom project included both high and low price-point aspects. For the wall tile, Lucy O’Brien, owner/principal designer, Tartan & Toile, chose a standard product, but paired with a Farrow & Ball paint color and the custom-designed cabinetry and vanity by Salvage Furniture Works, no one would know it. The wallpaper is by Kravet.
The marble vanity was made from a remnant piece the designer sourced from a fabricator, and there was enough left over for the windowsill and tub surround. The flooring and wall tile are from Tile Bar, the tub is by Kohler, and the window treatment is by Nobilis.
The client wanted basketweave floor tile, and the designer found one with soft blue-green accents rather than the traditional contrasting white and black, which kept the colorful bathroom from looking too busy.
Using caning on the front of the storage unit offered multiple benefits, including keeping it from looking like a massive piece of furniture in a small room.
Molding, doors and woodwork were painted the same blue hue to create a cohesive look and make the colorful bathroom space feel larger. Accessories and hardware are from Etsy, the countertop is from Set in Stone, the faucets are Delta, and the mirrors are by Ovalcrest.
