To deliver this accessible and luxurious master bathroom to his clients, Maike Cheng created a high-functioning layout that meets their needs throughout every square foot.
Before the redesign, the builder-grade master bath was planned awkwardly with a full-height wall that divided the space and left too much wasted space between the shower and tub.
One of Cheng’s ideas for saving space was installing barn-style sliding doors instead of those that swing for the linen closet and toilet room.
The designer created a designated hair-styling station for the wife, which includes a charging area and storage for the hair dryer, straightener and curling iron.
The side walls inside the toilet room were reinforced for future grab bars.
The half wall inside the shower not only protects the tub from splashing but also holds shelves for shower accessories.
