Designer Komal Sheth of Austin, Texas-based Spaces Designed worked to create this spa-like master bath for her clients, who were tired of their outdated and dysfunctional space.
Before the redesign, the master bath was very outdated with traditional brass fixtures and a basically non-functioning bathtub area.
“My clients were very open to adding the design features like the veneer–wrapped ceilings above the vanity,” said Sheth, adding that this design detail helps accentuate the high curve of the ceiling.
“The whole space is lit with crisp LED lights to aid in energy efficiency and bring out the warmth in the textured, gray tile on the floors,” said Sheth.
After removing the step-up to the bathtub, the design team created a 6-in.-tall curved platform for it that relates to the curve on the ceiling. Large 17-in. by 26-in. tiles on the floor also make the space feel larger.
