This new-build house outside of Fort Worth, Texas, was built to be a family’s lifelong home. Architect Brandon E. Allen of Allen Architecture was tasked with creating a space that would work for crowds and more intimate gatherings of people.
This kitchen boasts two islands – one primarily for prepping and the other for bar seating and buffet-style meals.
The cabinets are a white, simple Shaker style for its timelessness and ability to be both traditional and modern.
This herringbone-patterned blue backsplash adds personality and cheeriness to the large, open space.
The natural wood open shelving and shiplap walls bring texture and character to the kitchen.
“The clients and I have been friends for years, and it was good to work with them in this professional capacity, but at the same time it allowed our friendships to deepen,” said Allen, explaining that they often planned parties after design consultations to bring everyone together.
