This blue-and-white kitchen was the dream of two homeowners who love to garden and can their foods. Designers Rick Goldstein and Lee Woodall of Atlanta-based MOSAIC Group made it happen by expanding the previous space and adding in their clients’ personal tastes.
The former kitchen was dated and too small, and it lacked an island. The home is on a lake and has a beautiful garden, so the homeowners wanted the kitchen to take better advantage of that.
New corner windows were installed to let in the views and more natural lighting.
Double ovens and shelving for cookbooks caters to the homeowners’ love of cooking and canning.
The husband was very particular about the cabinetry, so custom cabinetry was used to fit his requirements.
The original floors weren’t insulated when the house was constructed, so the team insulated them during the project.
The blue island is the homeowners’ favorite color and is ideal for canning because of its ample storage and a small seating space.
