Designer Paige Maurer of Traverse City, Mich.-based Paige Lee Interiors was tasked with transforming an outdated home into her client’s forever home – or maybe just a home with great resale value and a modern farmhouse appeal. Either way, she had a strict budget and the clients’ idea of their dream house to balance.
Before the redesign, the kitchen felt chopped up and outdated with oak cabinets and old appliances.
The kitchen was updated with semi-custom cabinetry, subway tiles and wood accents for a simple and neutral space.
Black was used as the accent color and was featured in the cabinetry hardware, light fixtures and plumbing fixtures.
“I love the kitchen because every holiday I get a huge thank you text with a photo of the massive island being put to good use for cooking, celebrating and baking,” said Maurer. “These kinds of texts make this designer’s heart full!”
The master bathroom was updated with the same budget-friendly tile as the kitchen, as well as soft, gray-toned vanity cabinets.
“Lightening up the space and creating a more open layout was key to making this the oasis my clients craved,” said Maurer.
