Designer Sarah Mouser of Atlanta-based Ivory Lane Interiors outfitted this functional and bright kitchen for a busy couple and two young children.
Before the redesign, the kitchen sported not-to-code elements like exposed electrical wiring and stacked flooring.
“The island really makes for a great space for the family to gather,” said Mouser. “It truly is a wonderful layout to host family get-togethers.”
The vintage farmhouse sink, along with the island’s butcher block countertops and the vintage-style refrigerator, bring in the farmhouse look the clients were looking for. The sink is a 1933 refinished 42-in. cast iron high back kitchen farm sink.
The kitchen’s L-shaped layout connects it to the nearby family room.
Durable touches like quartz countertops provide long-lasting quality for this young family.
“Since the farmhouse design was important to the client, we chose a beadboard farmhouse-style door,” said Mouser.
Bronze, half-moon-shaped pulls add warmth and a traditional touch to the cabinetry.
