Designer Nancy Charbonneau of Conroe, Texas-based Charbonneau Interiors was charged with creating a high-functioning kitchen and walk-in pantry, which would serve as a behind-the-scenes working area for entertaining and cleaning up.
By knocking down several walls and relocating the dining area to the kitchen, the design team was able to create an open floor plan with space for a large pantry.
All the cabinetry in the kitchen was custom made and painted white to make the kitchen as bright as possible. White quartz countertops and a white subway tile backsplash enhance this feel, while a light blue island base and walnut floating shelving make the white stand out.
“The kitchen is now open to the dining area, so I love that it is not just a kitchen; it is a place to cook, gather and dine all together,” said Charbonneau.
The walk-in pantry needed to be as functional as it was beautiful, so Charbonneau decided to incorporate a decent amount of mixed storage, including slide-out drawers, open shelving and open and closed cabinets.
