This new-build home in the Arizona desert emphasizes its surroundings with vast windows and natural materials. Designer Lori Carroll of Tucson, Ariz.-based Lori Carroll & Associates helped bring the outdoors in with a minimalist kitchen and a luxurious bathroom.
“Glass elements aren’t typically thought of as high-tech, however, in this kitchen the backsplash is a dynamic combination of Starphire glass and light,” said Carroll, explaining that she had to use creative engineering to ensure that the glass and the light source above the island worked well together.
Approaching the project from a destination perspective, the goal was to create a luxury resort experience at home.
The island design was simple; it provides a large work surface, storage and a convenient dining area. These contemporary design elements exude the sleek, streamlined feel of a modern kitchen.
Elements like the wood cabinets, the metal lights and the glass come together to create visual interest in the kitchen.
“Free from needing further embellishment, this luxe material became the foundation to build around, especially with its undeniable refinement and timeless appeal,” said Carroll, in reference to the marble in the master bath.
A glass shower partition and door emphasize the luxurious marble, making it one of the main focal points of the room.
Positioned under a large picture window, a sculpted undermount soaking tub adds a last bit of luxury.
