For this modern kitchen, designer Jill Calo of Chardon, Ohio-based Payne & Payne Builders was charged with not only creating two full workspaces but also implementing a white palette with pops of color.
After removing an unused foyer and breakfast area, Calo was able to widen the kitchen space and include two islands.
The bar area stands out with its oval backsplash tile in bright red.
“The couple wanted a modern design, so I chose a flat-panel cabinet in high-gloss white with minimal hardware,” said Calo. “We also wanted white for the countertops, so we selected a durable quartz without a lot of pattern.”
To help warm up the white palette, the designer backed one of the islands with rustic wood planks.
For their two daughters’ bathroom, the clients wanted a modern design the girls could easily share.
Dual-swing, frosted-glass shower doors match the toilet room walls, which not only allow for privacy but also add another texture to the space.
