Set in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, this classic log home was designed to be both an entertaining space and an oasis from outside cares. Co-owner Jay Parmeter of Wisconsin, Wis.-based Golden Eagle Log & Timber Homes worked to combine modern appliances and features with rustic taste.
The two levels on the island allow the chef to prepare meals uninterrupted while guests and family gather around the large sitting area.
“The hood really was designed as the focal point in this kitchen,” said Parmeter. “This piece brought in the bold rustic feature we were after and tied their kitchen in to the rest of their home’s decor.”
“Balancing a chef’s kitchen with bold rustic design elements made this project truly a success and made this kitchen stand out from the rest,” said Parmeter.
The homeowner wanted appliances suited for a professional chef, so the design team chose a six-burner Thermador range and microwave, along with a Sub-Zero fridge/freezer.
Framed by wooden timbers, this tub is the centerpiece of a master bath meant to be an escape.
