Show-Stopping Kitchen and Bath Trends
The Amora vanity from Ronbow features a metal inlay in a variety of color options, including the pictured navy with a rose gold-plated brass inlay. An optional LED mirror in a sunburst shape is also available to complement the vanity, which is cut at 45-degree angles. Other color pairings include white or oak Toscana with a brushed nickel inlay. This model will also be highlighted during KBIS 2017 from Jan. 10-12, 2017, in Orlando.
Designer Drains offer oval-shaped drains featuring a variety of patterns. The cover is made of polished or brushed 304 stainless steel, and the throat is made of copper and is nickel plated. The drain system will fit into any ABS/PVC/cast-iron body.
Hansgrohe’s ShowerSelect two-function thermostatic trims allow users to easily switch between hand shower and showerhead functions via the illustrated select buttons. The trims are available in a chrome or brushed nickel finish and are also offered in square or round shapes, as well as one-function models.
The Kitch’T concept by Dsignedby is an all-in-one worktop, which includes a Table T seating area, Bosch appliances and a Waterworks bar faucet. It is suitable for smaller spaces and features DuPont’s Corian material with a mobile charger, red oak doors with no handles, Loox LED lighting from Häfele and a Dometic minibar. The unit can be connected to water and electric through outlets on the left- and right-hand sides.
The Black Diamond tap collection from Devon&Devon is made of brass and features a light gold finish and ribbed metal levers, which feature a diamond-polished black crystal finish. Available are three-hole taps for sinks and bidets; single-hole taps for bidets; wall taps for tubs; taps for the side of a tub (up to four holes); and a three-hole, floor-mounted unit with taps and a showerhead. A dual-control thermostatic shower mixer with a double handle control to regulate both temperature and water pressure is also available.
Duravit’s ME by Starck collection includes six washbasins, toilets, urinals, shower trays and accessories. The toilets and urinals feature a slim edge and rimless technology for a powerful flow that rinses the inner surface. The washbasins also offer a slim rim and deep insides.
Infinity Drain has introduced a satin bronze finish for its collection of linear drain systems and center shower drains. The finish is achieved by applying a clear-tinted powder coat to the stainless steel strainers for a consistent finish. The finish is available on the company’s Wedge Wire, Tile Insert Frame and select decorative patterns.
The Fira collection from Julien features a fireclay sink that turns into a workstation and features a variety of accessories, including colanders, trays, boards, bins and racks. The sinks are available in apron-front, flat or Shaker-style units for any design style, and two apron fronts on the same unit can be specified. The sink slope was engineered to optimize water flow during drainage.
The NanaWall Kitchen Transition features opening glass windows and walls. The idea is to create an open floor plan that flows into the outdoor dining area and to bring in fresh air and ventilation while cooking. Its dual-height window/door folding system allows the window and wall portions of the kitchen to open and operate independently, and its Single Track Sliding System offers the option of zero floor track and hidden pocketed panels.
The Avalon tub from Native Trails is made of NativeStone, a combination of natural jute fiber and cement, and is available in 62- and 72-in. sizes. Its deep interior features thick walls for ample insulation, and each unit is hand formed, polished, finished and sealed. Avalon 62 is $7,495, and the 72-in. model is $8,795. Both are available in ash, slate and pearl finishes. According to designer Paula Kennedy, this is a serious game changer for the industry.
Seminhandmade has introduced its PRINT line of doors for select Ikea bathroom cabinets. Several artists came together to design the patterns, which include the pictured “Stone” and are created using ink jet technology; each piece is printed on wood veneer and sealed.
The WaterBridge Exposed Shower System from Sonoma Forge features concealed hardware and industrial-chic style and was designed to be mounted on a glass wall or floor mounted. Optional accessories include a hand shower, foot wash and alternate showerheads and pricing ranges from $2,900 to $6,075. It is also suitable for an outdoor installation and available finishes include rustic copper or nickel, satin nickel and oil-rubbed bronze.
True’s new Spa and Makeup Station includes a 15-in. forced-air refrigerator for storing such things as dairy-based face creams, bottled water, hand towels and eye masks. The unit features a 300-series stainless steel interior, zero-clearance hinging to allow it to sit flush with existing cabinetry and a TruLumina LED lighting system with 14 color options. True will also be featuring this product at KBIS 2017, as well as its Butler’s Bar, which includes a clear ice machine, beverage dispenser, undercounter refrigerator and wine cabinet and is suitable for smaller spaces.

MTI Baths’ Continuum infinity sink was designed in collaboration with Matthew Quinn is semi-recessed and uses its countertop cutout to form its bottom for a seamless look. Only the top two inches of the rim sit on the countertop, and the unit is made of a non-porous mixture of natural ground materials and high-performance resins.
Designer Paula Kennedy appreciated the flexibility of the Gravy wall sconce from Koncept. It can be used as a compact uplight or downlight, and a variety of colors and shapes is available.
The transitional Metropoli tap collection from Vissoni was designed to emulate New York City skyscrapers. “It is masculine, but art deco in a sexy way,” said Paula Kennedy.
Designer Paula Kennedy said her favorite company at Dwell was Fireclay Tile, which featured its Black and White collection of hand-painted ceramic tiles in 12 patterns. The pictured Elephant Star pattern is available in four colorways and retails for $35 per piece.
Danver Stainless and Brown Jordan Outdoor Kitchens featured their new wood grain powdercoat finishes, which include chestnut, cherry flame, American maple, bamboo, white wash, table beech, burlwood and teak. The realistic finishes will not warp, split or crack like real wood and are available for a variety of the companies’ collections.
DuPont’s Corian surfaces now offer a Charging Surface right on the countertop. It is easy to clean and is available in every Corian color and pattern for wireless charging. Just below the surface, a transmitter transfers energy wirelessly to a receiver within or attached to a smart device. The Powermatrix app tracks the process, and charging stops once the device has reached maximum battery capacity. According to designer Mike Hetherman, Corian is a great raw material.
