This year’s Southern Living Idea House plays up the traditional styles with modern flair. With a wraparound porch and garden, the exterior exudes Southern style and hospitality.
Inspired by antique touches, designer Lauren Liess of Oakton, Va.-based Lauren Liess Interior Design designed the master bath with a white palette and delicate design features. She also filled the wall behind the bath with antique, frame-pressed botanicals.
The elegant white vanity combines details with marble countertops, Wellborn cabinetry and a Soci sink.
Birmingham architect Bill Ingram designed the kitchen with an evergreen color palette. The color covers the walls, cabinets and even the ceiling.
Black countertops create depth in the kitchen, while stainless steel and chrome accents add a polished finishing touch.
The maple butcher-block countertop adds earthy balance and charm.
A built-in butler’s pantry allows for plenty of room for entertaining. The overhead cabinets are backed with cotton curtains to allow for the option of hidden storage.
Also designed by Bill Ingram, the powder room boasts a bold design with striped wallpaper, a honed granite vanity countertop and brass sconces.
An additional guest bathroom, designed by Ashley Gilbreath of Montgomery, Ala.-based Ashley Gilbreath Interior Design, combines a white vanity with marble countertops and a nautical mirror.
