A couple in the New Jersey suburbs had begun to outgrow their mid-century modern ranch, but they loved their home’s location near a wooded area and stream. Instead of moving, they brought on Princeton Design Collaborative and Tucker Distinctive Kitchens to expand and transform their home.
Since these clients love to host, the formerly cramped kitchen was opened up to the rooms on either side, and an island with seating for six was added.
The Euro-style cabinetry appeals to the clients’ desire for a clean, mid-century modern appeal that matches the home’s character.
The new upstairs master bath features a walk-in shower and a double, floating vanity.
This bath is one of three-and-a-half bathrooms in the home – none of which have tubs. According to Conroy, the clients knew this would be a resale risk but thought a tub would be a waste of space for them and possibly for future homeowners as well.
With pebble tile flooring and a blue mosaic tile backsplash, the powder room has a subtle Asian theme to reflect the homeowners’ heritage.
