“We had a couple of goals in mind when designing this kitchen for a family of seven. The client wanted an island with seating for five kids, as well as different refrigerator areas so the kids could easily access their own drinks and snacks. Additionally, we wanted to create a nice flow between the kitchen and the orange, gray and white breakfast room. To accomplish this, we used the island stools to tie into the breakfast room palette.” – Katherine Hodge, Southport, Conn.-based Sage Design, ROHL Kitchen Design Winner
“The biggest challenge with this project was coordinating custom pieces from many different vendors. Because we used a variety of materials throughout the kitchen, each element had to be designed to the correct specifications and delivered on time – no easy task when you have pieces coming from all over the country. It felt a little like orchestrating a circus!” – Katherine Hodge, Southport, Conn.-based Sage Design, ROHL Kitchen Design Winner
“The stainless steel cabinets are my favorite part of this kitchen. It was new territory for me, and it took some guts to try it out – not to mention, trust and cooperation with the vendor and installer. I couldn’t be happier with the finished results.” – Katherine Hodge, Southport, Conn.-based Sage Design, ROHL Kitchen Design Winner
“We wanted to create a inviting master bathroom. It had to be functional yet warmer than a white, spa-type setting.” – Michelle Morgan, New Canaan, Conn.-based Morgan Harrison Home, ROHL Bathroom Design Winner
“My challenge was that the client said I could do whatever I would like in the entire house, but that I had to design her master bathroom around a taupe stone tile that she had fallen in love with. She handed me the sample tile, and I took it from there.” – Michelle Morgan, New Canaan, Conn.-based Morgan Harrison Home, ROHL Bathroom Design Winner
“I used ROHL Palladian faucets, Spanish Grey and Asian White marble custom mosaic stone, custom cabinetry painted in Benjamin Moore Shale and ROHL Palladian faucets and shower. There is also a Victoria+ Albert soaking tub with a ROHL Palladian hand-held faucet.” – Michelle Morgan, New Canaan, Conn.-based Morgan Harrison Home, ROHL Bathroom Design Winner
“I loved the fact that this wasn’t the typical white bathroom. It was warm and had taupe shades that added to the entire space.” – Michelle Morgan, New Canaan, Conn.-based Morgan Harrison Home, ROHL Bathroom Design Winner
