This week’s “From the Tap” KBB podcast is all about KBIS 2022! Registration opened on Sept. 1, and the show takes place Feb. 8 to 10 in Orlando. We recently spoke with Jason McGraw, the KBIS show director, and Mike Waterman, chief sales officer of Visit Orlando, about what’s in store for the live event, as well as what’s new in the sunny city of Orlando since we were all there four years ago.

It will also have been two years since the live event, and everyone is looking forward to reconnecting with old friends and industry colleagues and discovering new trends and products in person. KBIS 2022 hits and highlights include the ever-popular Voices from the Industry Conference, which will include live and virtual options; important discussions on the KBISNeXT Stage; the coveted Best of KBIS Awards, a variety of pavilions focusing on wellness luxury and technology; and the Discovery District, which showcases brands new to the industry.

In terms of what’s new in Orlando, the sky is the limit with a bevy of new theme park rides and attractions, plenty of celebrity restaurant openings and several hotel renovations. Disney also starts celebrating its 50^thanniversary in October.

Preparations are currently under way for a safe KBIS 2022, including following CDC guidelines and those of state and local officials in Florida and Orange County. The Orange County Convention Center is also has also received the Global Biorisk Advisory Council STAR accreditation, which recognizes the gold standard of safe venues.
