“Behind the Windows” Returns to ADAC

October 1, 2022

As ADAC continues to celebrate the evolution of design at this fall’s upcoming DISCOVER ADAC, it is also revitalizing a favorite design experience, “ADAC: BEHIND THE WINDOWS.” Through this program, featured designers showcase their work through one-of-a-kind vignettes, located in different locations throughout ADAC. Participating designers include Lia Shin of C + H Interiors, Jennifer Astrop and Tim Hobby of Minotti by HA Modern, and Bryan Kirkland and Iesia King of SHOWROOM 58.

“Back by popular demand this year, ‘BEHIND THE WINDOWS’ showcases the community aspect that makes ADAC unique,” said Katie Miner, General Manager of ADAC. “Not only are the designers exceptional at their craft, but they’re also showroom and business owners, and this event gives them the opportunity to show off their products and how they pair with others in the building.”

This year’s featured designers reflect ADAC’s growth and expansion, and with their own design offices located on campus, they exemplify the core of the ADAC community. Each participating designer brings their unique point of view to the exhibition, which will showcase how top design talent use products sourced throughout ADAC to inspire their work. With over 65 showrooms located on campus, BEHIND THE WINDOWS demonstrates the idea that you don’t have to go far to find the essential elements of luxury that have always been the foundation of fine design.

More about the 2022 “BEHIND THE WINDOWS” participants:

C + H Interiors is owned by Lia Shin, where she has led the company as the Design Director for over 20 years. The company is a design-to-build firm with clients all over the world and captures timeless beauty in all Shin’s designs while also instilling an unexpected modern energy. This year’s vignette plays off “Work-From-Home” culture. “In the current world where Work-From-Home culture has become a permanently established lifestyle, home offices have come to the forefront of design as highly personal and meticulously curated spaces for all types of productivity,” said Shin. “In C + H’s vignette, we imagine a bold, debonair business professional with a workspace to match.”

Jennifer Astrop and Tim Hobby of Minotti by HA Modern have a combined 45+ years of experience in the interior design industry with a passion for modern interior design that shines through their projects. “Participating in ‘BEHIND THE WINDOWS’ at ADAC is a great way for us to show clients how versatile Minotti furnishings can be,” stated Hobby and Astrop. “The collection is expansive and offers endless solutions for so many styles and types of spaces. The natural fibers and soft shapes of the wallcovering inspired the window display, which we paired with our elegant, semi-curve Seymour sofa, Catlin console & Noor ceramic side table that reflect the shapes presented on the wall. Christopher Boot’s Nepenthes light compliments the organic nature of the window as well with its free form, imperfectly blown glass globes.”

Bryan Kirkland and Iesia King of SHOWROOM 58 are both Atlanta-based interior designers. Kirkland has a creative spirit, mixing bold patterns and vibrant colors, while King loves to incorporate modern elegance into the charm of traditional spaces. The pair selected various pieces from other showrooms to curate their vignette this year, emphasizing how products from throughout the building provide a foundation and inspiration for other designers. A Phillip Jeffries wallcovering is at the forefront of their display.

The locations of the vignettes include Suite 238 and Suite 503 at ADAC. The installations will be available for viewing beginning Sept. 20, launching at DISCOVER ADAC taking place from Sept. 20-22 until March 3, 2023.
