CEDIA Expo In-Person Show Returns

March 22, 2021

The return of the in-person CEDIA Expo 2021 has been announced. The show will take place Sep. 1-3, 2021 in Indianapolis.

After months of COVID-19 pandemic meeting restrictions, vaccines are finally being distributed, and live events are beginning to come back safely. Emerald and Indianapolis are committed to putting on healthy and safe shows; in fact, Indianapolis has already hosted 58 live events with more than 130,000 attendees since last July, according to Jason C. McGraw, CTS. CAE, group vice president, CEDIA Expo & KBIS, Emerald.

The Indiana Convention Center (ICC) has invested more than $7 million in health and safety upgrades and has recently been named a Star Facility for 2021 by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) for its health and cleaning protocols.

By this September, it will have been two years since the industry last gathered in person at CEDIA Expo 2019. There is a strong desire from manufacturers to be able to show their new products to attendees. The expo offers the chance to see the latest gear, network with peers, learn about the latest trends and receive product-specific training from the sessions to be held at the show. CEDIA Expo helps to accelerate the industry’s business, and the 2021 event will provide the best opportunity in two years to connect with the residential integration channel in a significant way.

At CEDIA Expo 2021, roughly 100 education sessions both live and streamed are scheduled, and dozens of case studies, product application briefs and industry thought leadership sessions will be held on the CEDIA Expo show on the Smart Stage, Innovation Hub and other pavilion stages.  The show will highlight product growth segments, such as smart appliances and connected living solutions in the Design + Connection Pavilion, as well as lighting, outdoor living, ‘resimercial,’ security and work from home in the Innovation Hub exhibit area and DesignWell Pavilion. Not forgetting new to market exhibitors, they will be featured in The LaunchPad exhibit area. CEDIA Expo’s Sound Rooms, High Performance Audio Rooms and Manufacturer Training Rooms will continue to feature hands-on product experiences.

Leading brands including Crestron, Digital Projection, Elan, Harman, Lutron, Origin Acoustics, Samsung, Savant, SnapAV/Control4, Sound United, URC and Yamaha, among nearly 200 other exhibitors have already contracted to participate in the fall show in Indianapolis. More than 350 brands are expected to exhibit.

McGraw will be featured on the CEDIA Podcast this week to talk about upcoming show plans. Registration opens June 9 – be sure to save the date for your annual residential technology reunion!
