GRAFF Presents Work by Stephen Burks in Chicago

August 25, 2022

Luxury kitchen and bath brand GRAFF and prestigious American industrial designer Stephen Burks present “Faucet Fantasy”, an artistic installation drawing attention to the importance of water conservation. Burks, known for bringing a feel of handcraft to design, will showcase nine GRAFF faucets in luxurious finishes, reimagined in his signature mix of bright colors with natural and manmade materials. The installation will debut at the kick-off party for Chicago’s most prominent design event of the year, the River North Design District (RNDD) Gallery Walk, on September 9 at the Altalia showroom, 410 W. Grand Ave.

Faucet Fantasy represents GRAFF’s Art of Bath sustainability program. GRAFF is an actively green brand, from using lead-free materials in its products to adhering to zero-waste in its lean manufacturing system. The brand is inherently dedicated to water conservation, understanding our most valuable resource’s role in a healthy ecosystem. In 2012, GRAFF raised the bar on eco-standards by automatically including water-saving systems with all bathroom-sink and kitchen faucets and shower heads. Partnering with sustainable projects worldwide, GRAFF strives to make luxury green.

“Inspired by the graphic flow of water, Faucet Fantasy will showcase nine luxurious faucets in a colorful array of handcrafted finishes, textures and materials,” said Stephen Burks.

Founder and president of GRAFF, Mr. Ziggy Kulig, said, “For GRAFF, quality, design and sustainability go hand-in-hand. We look to align with creatives whose own work embodies this same philosophy. We are pleased to partner with Stephen Burks for the RNDD Gallery Walk. We hope his creation will inspire viewers to do their part in supporting water conservation initiatives.”

Speaking with KBB, Kulig continued, “GRAFF feels a symbiotic relationship with Stephen Burks’ extraordinary design vision. His background in architecture, pluralistic design perspective and international collaborations with talented artisans resonate strongly with the way we design and innovate. Our shared dedication to exquisite craftsmanship and resource conservation make the opportunity to collaborate with Stephen a design dream come true. We’re extremely excited about his Faucet Fantasy installation and the buzz it will generate at RNDD.”

The 2022 RNDD Gallery Walk will take place in 21 locations with special events throughout River North, featuring 31 artists and 20 designer vignettes. A portion of the Gallery Walk’s proceeds will go to their philanthropic partner St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. For tickets, click here.
