IFDA Design Student Scholarship Program Accepting Applications
March 14, 2022
Applications will be accepted up to March 31, 2022 for nine scholarships from the Educational Foundation (EF) of IFDA, the International Furnishings and Design Association. Since the early years of this 75-year-old global design industry alliance, arguably the most diverse organization of its kind with membership that includes designers, media and marketers, EF has awarded scholarships to high-achieving design students as well as grants to talented professionals, internationally. This year there are nine scholarships available for a total of $18,000.
“We believe in supporting students and enhancing public awareness of design through educational and philanthropic programs,” said Helen Wagner, Chairman of the Board of the Educational Foundation of IFDA. “These scholarships provide the opportunity to nurture and celebrate the talented individuals who are emerging in the industry.”
Previous scholarship recipients acknowledge the positive impact the IFDA EF program. “Winning an IFDA Educational Scholarship in 2021 was a recognition of my design work outside of the typical classroom setting that caused me to see myself as a designer in a new light,” said Natalie Fleshman, Virginia Tech Class of 2023. “I am very thankful for the new confidence in my talents and work that this opportunity afforded me.”
