Showplace Cabinetry Design Contest Winners Announced

Judges’ Choice and First Place Winner for Transitional Kitchen Design, Andrea Johnson, Complete Kitchen + Bath

April 16, 2021

With home remodeling project numbers up during 2020, kitchen and bath designers across North America had more opportunities to create innovative and beautiful new designs. The 2020 Showplace Cabinetry Design Contest gave many of those designers an opportunity to share their best ideas, competing in 10 categories for cash prizes and national recognition.

Showplace Cabinetry sponsored the design contest for all sales and design professionals employed by authorized Showplace Cabinetry dealerships, with entries judged by a national panel of design professionals. The judging panel and names of all the winners, with photos of their winning projects, are available here.

“Showplace Cabinetry has always been a manufacturer that values new ideas and innovation,” said Bill Allen, president and CEO of Showplace Cabinetry. “Everyone here has a passion for excellence and a willingness to go the extra mile to craft the finest cabinetry in North America.”

The contest was open to projects installed between Jan. 1, 2019, and Sept. 30, 2020. Categories featured a wide variety of designs including an “Other Rooms” category, a designation for the best new dealer entry and a judges’ choice award for best overall design. This year’s winner of the Judges’ Choice award, along with the first-place award for Transitional Kitchen Design, was Andrea Johnson from Complete Kitchen + Bath in Lakeland, Florida, for her “Timeless Elegance” project.

Showplace Contest

“All of the designers in this year’s contest showed their knowledge, their passion and their design skills,” said Allen. “Each entry was an actual project from a North American home. These functional and beautiful rooms dramatically illustrate the range and flexibility of Showplace cabinetry.”

The designers were asked to submit a variety of materials for judging, including professional imagery. The panel of peer-group design professionals judged each entry on visual appeal, creativity, workflow and design elements. Categories for the projects entered in the annual Showplace Cabinetry Design Contest were chosen to represent designs for kitchens and baths in traditional, contemporary and transitional styles, along with best small kitchen.

“Showplace Cabinetry congratulates every one of the designers who participated in the contest,” said Allen. “Each is a winner for using Showplace cabinetry in so many creative and beautiful designs!”
