Willetts Design & Associates Earns Gold Nugget Honors

June 14, 2018

Judges for the 2018 Gold Nugget Awards have named Willetts Design & Associates as an Award of Merit winner in its annual competition, which honors architectural design and planning excellence and draws entries from throughout the United States and internationally. Willets Design & Associates earned its Merit honors for Zenyara, which was honored for Best Custom Home over 8,000 square feet.

Located in Coachella Valley, Zenyara is just minutes away from the music festival. This desert vacation home is a new 40,000-sq.-ft. one-story residence overlooking a private golf course and bordered by a manmade lagoon. The main home features a spacious master suite, six guest bedrooms, a great room that includes a living room and bar, an expansive kitchen, an entertainment room and a spa – all of which transform into indoor-outdoor space with oversized doors. In addition to the main home, other amenities include four lushly appointed guest casitas, a polo field, and tennis and beach volleyball courts. Interior designer Dorothy Willetts of Willetts Design & Associates completed the mammoth task of designing and furnishing the indoor and outdoor spaces in six months.

Chosen from the pool of Merit Award winners, Grand Awards will be announced on June 28 as a feature highlight of PCBC, a regional conference and trade show for the real estate development field.

“Gold Nugget Award winners reflect our industry’s best, brightest and most innovative architects, planners and builder/developers,” said Judging Chairman and Gold Nugget ceremonies administrator Lisa Parrish. “We applaud them all, and we forward to our June 28 celebration of Merit and Grand Award winners.”

Now in their 55th year, the Gold Nugget Awards honor design and planning achievements in community and home design, green-built housing, site planning, commercial, retail, mixed-use development and specialty housing categories. Winners this year were chosen from more than 600 entries from around the world.
