ASID Names National Honors Recipients

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) announced its 2015 National Honors recipients. These awards recognize outstanding service to the society, its chapters and the community as demonstrated by individuals, industry partners and chapters.

“Through significant engagement with their local chapters and communities, our National Honors recipients continue to advance the ASID mission,” said ASID CEO Randy Fiser. “They are passionate leaders in our profession and make a meaningful impact on the work we do. Their deep commitment to the interior design profession, the society and its members is inspiring. We’re honored to recognize their exemplary dedication.”

The ASID Chapter Community Service Award recognizes a professional chapter that has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to community service during the previous ASID program year and exemplifies the spirit of bringing design to life in the service of others.

The recipients are: 

ASID Chapter Community Service Award winner: Su Casa Redesign Project, New York Metro Chapter

ASID Medalist Award winner: Sybil Jane Barrido, ASID, NCIDQ, CID, California Los Angeles Chapter 

ASID Medalist Award winner: Mary G. Knopf, ASID, LEED AP BD+C, Alaska Chapter

ASID Educator Medalist winner: Lisa M. Tucker, Ph.D., ASID, FIDEC, CID, AIA, IIDA, LEED AP BD+C, Virginia Chapter

ASID Industry Partner Merit Award winner: Doug Hartsell, Duralee, Fabrics & Fine Furniture, Washington Metro Chapter

ASID Industry Partner Merit Award winner: Patty Dominguez, Cosentino, California Central/Nevada Chapter

ASID Lifetime Award winner: Linda Singer Heinz, FASID, Arizona North Chapter
