Executive Cabinetry Has First Wooden Residential GREENGUARD-Certified Cabinetry
June 7, 2010
Executive Cabinetry, LLC’s wood cabinetry has become the first wooden product from a residential kitchen and bath cabinet manufacturer to earn GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification, the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute recently announced.
The cabinetry passed chemical emissions tests, using a residential model and air change rate to demonstrate its levels of released toxins, in order to receive the certification.
The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute uses criteria from several public health agencies to certify that products and materials are environmentally friendly.
“We are thrilled that Executive Cabinetry took the initiative to ensure that their residential wood products are low-emitting,” Executive director of GEI Henning Bloech said.
Executive Cabintery, LLC earned GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification for its wood stains, glazes, Bellini Thermofoil, Bellini Vogue veneers and impact wood. It also received certification on all of its paints except the Sagamore Collection and all of its EcoFriendly cabinets except the bamboo ones.
The EcoFriendly cabinetry qualifies builders and design professionals qualify for points in the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Building Rating System and the National Association of Homebuilders’ National Green Building Standard.
