Fast-Tracking Business Goals

January 18, 2023

We recently spoke with designer Rebecca Hay, CEO of Rebecca Hay Designs, located in Toronto, Canada. In addition to running her design studio, she is also a business coach, helping interior designers achieve entrepreneurial freedom by optimizing their time, money and creativity without sacrificing the things that matter most. She shared with us her tips for fast-tracking business goals in our new podcast.

Our conversation began with Rebecca explaining how collaboration over competition can work to serve the design community as well as individual designers. She points out that designers are stronger when they share their stories and emphasizes that every design practice is unique – competition is an artificial concept.

Next, Rebecca walks listeners through a vision-casting exercise that helps designers navigate both the process and the purpose of setting goals for the new year. She outlines quick and effective ways that designers can raise the level of their business and their daily lives by citing real-life examples of successful strategies for fast-tracking business goals.

Rebecca wraps up the podcast on fast-tracking business goals with a look at what she calls an “authentic” marketing approach. She urges designers to be true to themselves and points out that emphasizing core differentiators in marketing campaigns is an efficient and positive way to memorably position one’s practice in a crowded sector.

To hear more about Hay’s approach to fast-tracking business goals and her inclusive attitude toward the design business, watch the full video above or listen to the podcast on Spotify, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, Pandora and other outlets.
