Ferguson Creates 95 New Jobs in Northeast

July 21, 2014

Ferguson recently announced the construction of a new distribution center in Coxsackie, N.Y. The company has also leased property for a regional distribution hub in Secaucus, N.J. The two facilities will house almost one million square feet of warehouse space and will support Ferguson’s metro New York and Northeast branches, ensuring that customers receive product quickly.

The new 460,000-sq.-ft. distribution center in the Fountain Flats Business Park in New York will create 95 new jobs and has a completion date of late summer 2015.

“Ferguson Enterprises’ decision to invest in Greene County is another win in our efforts to grow the Upstate economy by creating jobs and new economic opportunities for New Yorkers,” said Governor Cuomo. “By establishing this new distribution center, Ferguson Enterprises is bringing nearly 100 jobs to the Capital Region and spurring continued growth in the community of Coxsackie. This was a collaborative effort – with support from both the state and local governments – and I am pleased to welcome this company to New York State.”

The New Jersey regional shipping hub will serve customers within a 100-mile radius seeking same day or next day delivery of Ferguson’s products. The facility will also include a Ferguson “Counter,” a one-stop shop for contractors to purchase tools, plumbing products, parts and accessories.

In recent months, Ferguson has increased its investment in the Northeast. The company made several acquisitions in New York and New Jersey, including The Davidson Group, Davis & Warshow and Karl’s Appliance, complementing its more than 100 existing Ferguson locations in the region.

“Our acquisitions and the addition of these two facilities secure Ferguson’s presence in the Northeast,” said Frank Roach, Ferguson CEO. “Our investment in the region is based on our philosophy to always strive to better serve our customers.”
